PKB Girls Golf Tour

EVENT ELIGIBILITY: Girls permanently residing within the boundaries of the Carolinas PGA Section who are 12 years old as of August 2, 2022 and up to 18 years old as of August 5, 2022. Players must be amateurs as defined by the USGA and may not be full-time college students.

PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds will be available in advance of the tournament by calling the Pro Shop at 704-542-8150. Green fee will be $30. 

SPECTATOR CARTS: Spectator Cart information will be available soon.

CADDIES: Caddies ARE NOT permitted at this event.

PLAYER DINING: A boxed lunch will be provided to each player during each competition round.

ACCOMMODATIONS: A PKB group room block has been set-up at the Homewood Suites Charlotte-Ballantyne. To receive this discounted rate, participants must book their rooms by June 9, 2022. We are excited to announce Digital Scorekeeping & Live Scoring by having players download the "ShotStat Live" scoring app to their phone. All you need to do is download it and authorize it! When using the Live Scoring App during your round, you will be scoring your marker as well as keeping your own score providing a true electronic scorecard.

At the bottom of this email you will find a link to the App Instructions PDF that details how to download the app and authorize it, as well as some screen shots for scoring and some of the other features, but the quick instructions are below.

1) Search and download the “ShotStat Live” app in the App Store of your iPhone or in the Google Play Store of your Android phone.

2) Authorize the app by either entering in your cell phone number or e-mail address to receive a 1-time PIN (we recommend using your cell phone number). NOTE - the only cell phone number or email that will work will be the one on your player account in our system - so that may be the player’s number/email, or it may be the parents (depending on how it was set up). If the number or e-mail is not in our system, the app will notify you. 

3) Once you download and authorize the app, tap the “Schedule” tab on the bottom navigation bar to view your upcoming events that are utilizing live scoring. If parings are set, the tournament will be highlighted in green allowing you to tap into the tournament.

The Top 2 finishers will earn exemptions into the 46th Girls Junior PGA Championship at Cog Hill Golf & Country Club in Palos Park, Illinois on August 2-5, 2022. 

Additionally, 5 ranked alternates will be named. 

• All players will be ranked on the PKBGT Performance Index rankings
• Results are weighted according to course rating and field strength

• The event champion will earn Class A status and an invitation to the 2022 PKBGT National Tournament of Champions
• The event runner-up will earn Class E status and an invitation to the 2022 PKBGT National Tournament of Champions

• Champion will receive 4 PBE Performance Stars
• Top 20% will receive 2 PBE Performance Stars
• Top 50% will receive 1 PBE Performance Star

All multi-day events will be ranked (Minimum field size: 5).

This is a CGA 6 multiplier

SUSPENSION OF PLAY: In the event play is suspended, you are directed to evacuate to your car in the parking lot. Updates will be posted on the tournament page and emailed about resumption of play. Play is governed by the 2019 USGA Rules of Golf except as amended by the PKBGT Rules of Play and the following Local Rules shown below.  Disregard local rules printed on the club score card.

DOUBT TO PROCEDURE:  Only members of the Rules Committee are authorized to render a Rules Decision. If in doubt as to the correct procedure, and a member of the Rules Committee is not present, play a second ball under Rule 20.1c (3) and report the facts to the Committee even if the scores are the same with both balls. The player MUST, before proceeding, announce which ball she intends to use for score. Failure to do so shall result in the first ball played to be scored or possible disqualification.

NOTICE TO COMPETITORS

COURSE TEES: Players will play the Carolinas PGA Section Tees. See PKBGT scorecard for details. 

PLAY READY GOLF: Ready golf means that ALL golfers should go to their balls as soon as possible and get READY to play their shots. While waiting to hit, players should SURVEY their shot, SELECT their clubs, TAKE them from their bags, and STAND at their balls READY to step up and make the shot when it is their turn. That’s Ready Golf.

RULES HOTLINE: Call 864-502-8537.  If a group is waiting for a ruling, and the hole in front of that group is open, wave the following group to play through.

DROP ZONE: Is provided as an additional relief option under Rule 17.1 on Holes #4, #9, & #14.

Local Rules:

Out of Bounds – Defined by white stakes and/or fencing. If a ball comes to rest on other parts of the golf course, other than the hole being played, after crossing a road is out of bounds. All homeowner’s yards are strictly out of bounds.

Water Hazards –Defined by yellow stakes or lines.

Lateral Water Hazards – Defined by red stakes or lines.

Sprinkler Heads and Drains—Relief is allowed from sprinkler heads and drains that interfere with the line of play for balls laying on the closely mown areas within two clubs length of the green.

Flower Beds – Flowering plants that interfere with stance of swing are considered Ground Under Repair. Relief must be taken.

Yardage Markers – Plates or otherwise are considered Immoveable Obstructions. All Distances are measured to the center of the green.
