PRACTICE ROUNDS: Practice rounds will be available in advance of the tournament by calling the Pro Shop at 434-589-3075. Practice round green fee is $14 and cart fee is $23. Practice round starting times can be made 7 days in advance and are available after 11:00 AM daily.
SPECTATOR CARTS: The course offers carts at $23 for 18 holes and $15 for 9 holes on a first come, first serve basis. Spectator carts must stay on the carts paths at all time.
ACCOMMODATIONS: A PKB group room block has been set-up at the Hilton Garden Inn Charlottesville. To receive this discounted rate, participants must book their rooms by February 16, 2023. The hotel is located 16.6 miles from Lake Monticello GC. Group rates are as follows: $169 per night plus tax, breakfast NOT included. TRAVEL: Lake Monticello GC is located 73.2 miles from Richmond International Airport.
We are excited to announce Digital Scorekeeping & Live Scoring by having players download the "ShotStat Live" scoring app to their phone. All you need to do is download it and authorize it! When using the Live Scoring App during your round, you will be scoring your marker as well as keeping your own score providing a true electronic scorecard.
At the bottom of this email you will find a link to the App Instructions PDF that details how to download the app and authorize it, as well as some screen shots for scoring and some of the other features, but the quick instructions are below.
1) Search and download the “ShotStat Live” app in the App Store of your iPhone or in the Google Play Store of your Android phone.
2) Authorize the app by either entering in your cell phone number or e-mail address to receive a 1-time PIN (we recommend using your cell phone number). NOTE - the only cell phone number or email that will work will be the one on your player account in our system - so that may be the player’s number/email, or it may be the parents (depending on how it was set up). If the number or e-mail is not in our system, the app will notify you.
3) Once you download and authorize the app, tap the “Schedule” tab on the bottom navigation bar to view your upcoming events that are utilizing live scoring. If parings are set, the tournament will be highlighted in green allowing you to tap into the tournament.
If you have questions, please let us know! It is important that all players download this app before Round 1 begins so we can have complete hole-by-hole live scoring!

BELL & FUTURES: All players will be ranked on the PKBGT Performance Index rankings. Results in Bell & Futures division are weighted according to course rating and field strength.
BELL NATIONAL: This event is a 1.5x multiplier for the PKBGT Bell National Order of Merit standings
FUTURES NATIONAL: This event is a 1.5x multiplier for the PKBGT Futures National Order of Merit standings
BELL NATIONAL: Champion will earn Group A status and an invitation to the PKBGT National Tournament of Champions. Event runner-up will all earn Group D status.
FUTURES NATIONAL: Champion will earn Group A status and an invitation to the PKBGT National Tournament of Champions. Event runner-up will all earn Group E status.
BELL & FUTURES: All multi-day events will be ranked (Minimum field size: 5). Bell & Futures Series will be ranked separately.
BELL: Champion will receive 4 PBE Performance Stars. Top 10% finishers will receive 1 PBE Performance Star.
FUTURES: Champion will receive 1 PBE Performance Star.
BELL: This is a CGA 7 multiplier

Play is governed by the 2023 USGA Rules of Golf except as amended by the PKBGT Rules of Play and the following Local Rules shown below. Disregard local rules printed on the club scorecard.
PLAY THE BALL AS IT LIES
DOUBT TO PROCEDURE: Only members of the Rules Committee are authorized to render a Rules Decision. If in doubt as to the correct procedure, and a member of the Rules Committee is not present, play a second ball under Rule 20.1c (3) and report the facts to the Committee even if the scores are the same with both balls.
RULES HOTLINE: Call 540-315-1215. If a group is waiting for a ruling, and the hole in front of that group is open, wave the following group to play through.
NOTICE TO COMPETITORS
COURSE TEES: Players will play the black PKBGT Bell yardage markers or the lilac PKBGT Futures yardage markers. See PKBGT scorecard for details.
PLAY READY GOLF: Ready golf means that ALL golfers should go to their balls as soon as possible and get READY to play their shots. While waiting to hit, players should SURVEY their shot, SELECT their clubs, TAKE them from their bags, and STAND at their balls READY to step up and make the shot when it is their turn. That’s Ready Golf.
INTEGRAL PARTS OF THE COURSE: Bulkheads within the penalty area are considered integral objects.
ABNORMAL COURSE CONDITIONS: Defined by areas encircled with white lines. French drains, sprinkler heads, deeply rutted muddy areas from vehicle traffic and washed out areas, will be considered abnormal even if unmarked. Your reference point for free drop is the nearest point of complete relief no closer to the hole. Tree stumps and roots are considered to be trees and NOT abnormal.
PREFERRED LIES (MLR E-3): When a player’s ball lies in a part of the general area cut to fairway height or less on the hole being played, the player may take free relief once by placing the original ball or another ball within one club length of the spot of the original ball, not nearer the hole and in the general area. The player must choose a spot to place the ball and use the procedures for replacing a ball under Rules 14.2b(2) and 14.2e. The ball must be placed only once by setting it down on the spot and letting it go so that it stays on that spot.
FLOWER BEDS: Deemed to be immovable obstructions. Your reference point for free drop is the nearest point of complete relief no closer to the hole.
HOLE #14 GREEN MATTING: The green matting right of hole #14 golf cart path is ground under repair. Your reference point for free drop is the nearest point of complete relief no closer to the hole.
DROP ZONES: Players may elect to use the drop zones on hole #16 located in front of the red teeing area.
DESIGNATED SHUTTLE AREAS: These are the only areas where a player may be in a golf cart during the round played unless shuttled by a tournament official.

This is the last day to withdraw from the event and receive a credit/refund. Players must withdraw no later than the official closing date to receive a credit/refund. All withdrawals and transfers are subject to an administrative fee.

Round 1 tee times will be emailed to all participants and their families.
Please note, participants withdrawing after tee times have been released will not receive a credit. Only in extreme circumstances will a credit be granted, at the discretion of the Tour Director.
